I have always had a passion for photography, both moving and still, from a very young age. A lot of my early influences are already on display in my gallery here, including nature and portraiture.
During High School I realised that art meant more to me than flicking a brush, or clicking a camera. I began to focus on developing my skills by enrolling on a HND in Photography course. During my time studying Photography I had many opportunities to branch into other areas of photography. For me, I liked the structure of the assignments and range of topics covered. The pivotal moment was learning to capture through analogue and developing my work in the darkroom. The time I spent with my Olympus OM10 gave me a huge appreciation for the little things that make the big difference.
After my studies I spent time working as a wedding photographer, a photojournalist for a newspaper, all the while keeping my passion for creativity alive.
I spent a number of years travelling and working abroad which was a huge inspiration to my current style of work. My taste in photography has changed over time and I have become more focused on landscape, architecture and street photography.
In 2016 it is my aim to catalogue as much of my work right here where I first began my digital creative journey. I will also document a few specific journeys I took through a series of posts:
- Toronto, Canada (2011)
- The Fjords, Norway (2013)
- Athens, Greece (2015)
